Youth arrested for harassing girl in Rajdhani express

Bhubaneswar: In a swift action by Government Railway Police (GRP), Tatanagar, a youth was held for allegedly misbehaving with a girl inside Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express on Friday.

The GRP officials swung into action only after the victim twitted about her ordeal inside the Rajdhani Express on various social media including Facebook and Twitter. Subsequently, the victim’s friend immediately brought the matter to the notice of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu through social media.

According to reports, the girl, who was travelling from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi in the Rajdhani Express was being harassed by the youth identified as Baniprasad Mohanty of Khurda.

Following the incident, the Railway Minister directed the GRP and other officials who then apprehended Baniprasad Mohanty from Tatanagar station.

GRP sources said Mohanty is being interrogated.
