Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, a young woman was rescued today in a critical condition from inside a forest near Dhenkanal bypass road after being allegedly raped, thrashed and dumped by her lover on Monday.
According to the victim, her lover called her to the forest near Dhenkanal College bypass road on Monday evening. The accused lover then raped and thrashed her severely and fled the spot. She was lying inside the forest since Monday as she was unable to move.
Today some locals spotted the woman and informed the police about the same. Police arrived at the spot to rescue the woman and took her to the Dhenkanal headquarters hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

The victim has also revealed that the accused person is from Gondia area. Based on the information obtained from the victim, the police have launched a probe into the matter.
“The boy raped me and dumped me there. His name is Sibashis Mohanty. He called me to the forest at 4:30PM on Monday. Then he raped and dumped me there,” said the victim.
“We got information that a young woman was lying in critical condition inside the forest near Dhenkanal college bypass road. We immediately rushed to the spot and rescued her. The girl is not in a condition to say anything and after investigation we will have more information about the incident,” said the investigating officer of the Town Police station, Dheeraj Lenka.
Till reports last came in, the Dhenkanal SP informed that the accused has been detained by the Town Police.
