Young woman beaten up for refusing to share WhatsApp number

Brahmagiri: Two youths were arrested and forwarded to court by the Brahmagiri police today for beating up a college girl student after she refused to share her mobile number with the accused.

Sources said the arrested persons, Ganesh Pradhan and Kartik Pradhan, asked the girl victim for the mobile number in which WhatsApp is installed at Bazaar Goda Chhak in Brahmagiri town. When the girl declined to share her WhatsApp number, she was beaten up and manhandled by the accused.

Hearing commotion, locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victim girl.

Uma Charan Singh, IIC, Brahmagiri police station, said, “On the basis of a complaint lodged at the local police station, a case has been registered and the two youths have been arrested and forwarded to the court.”
