Young couple found hanging from tree in Jajpur

Jajpur: A young couple was found hanging from a tree at Paikarapur village in Kantigadia gram panchayat under Dharmasala police limits of Jajpur district today.

Sources said some locals first noticed the bodies hanging from a tree and informed the police. The Dharmasala police rushed to the spot and sent the dead bodies for post mortem.

As per preliminary investigation, it is suspected that families of both the youths were embroiled in a dispute over their love relationship for which the duo might have taken the extreme step. The girl was a minor, sources informed.
Police have registered an FIR and started investigation into the incident.

"After receiving information, we rushed to the spot. The family members of the two have stated that both were in love and had eloped last night. They got to know about their deaths this morning. An inquiry will be done to ascertain the exact reason behind the incident," said Dharmasala police station IIC, Umakanta Naik.
