Bhubaneswar: The Kalinga Stadium authorities on Monday announced that the Stadium will remain closed for public use from November 16 in view of the World Hockey League (WHL) final, scheduled to begin from December 1.

The decision has been taken to carry out preparatory arrangements for the WHL final, Kalinga Stadium in-charge Barik Mohanty told OTV.

"The Stadium will be closed for public use from November 16 until further notice. Besides, the ongoing construction work in the Stadium will also be stopped during the same period. We will carry out cleaning, branding and decoration works for the final," said Mohanty.

Last week, DGP RP Sharma had reviewed security arrangements at the stadium.

As per reports, the visitors would enter and exit the stadium through six gates during the WHL. Besides, special arrangements have been made for the security of players during their stay in hotels and journey to the venue.

Players of 10 countries, including India, Australia, Argentina and five European teams will take part in the hockey league, which will culminate on December 10.
