Worker injured in explosion at RSP blast furnace

Rourkela: A labourer was injured after a minor explosion occurred at the blast furnace-5 of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) here last night.

The injured worker has been admitted to Ispat General Hospital (IGH). He is now out of danger, hospital sources said.

Production was stalled at this site of the plant after the incident took place. The blast furnace-5 was also in controversy as the site stopped production for around 15 days last month due to supply of low quality coal, reports said.

The reaction of the plant authorities was not available.
