Women ransack liquor shop in Jatni

Jatni: A group of women on Friday ransacked a liquor shop at Jatni fish market in Khurda district. They reportedly broke open the door of the liquor shop and damaged the liquor bottles.

As per reports, the locals have been protesting against the establishment of a country liquor shop in the market. Today, women anti-liquor campaigners forcefully entered the shop and shattered the bottles on the road.

Police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. A few agitating women were detained and taken to the local police station.

Police and excise officials were unavailable for comments.
