Women intensify anti-liquor campaign in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: Setting an example for others, women members of Barpalli village under Sikharpur panchayat in Nayagarh district have cracked whip on illicit liquor trade in the region.

Hundreds of women destroyed huge quantities of country-made liquor that was manufactured by several people in the village late last night.

According to reports, the women poured large quantities of country-made liquor on streets as a mark of protest against the illicit liquor trade.

"There have been several incidents of violence in the village among people after consumption of liquor. Hence, we decided to destroy the country-made liquor that was being sold at several places in the village,"said one of the agitating women.
