Kendrapara: Tension prevailed in Hindulia village under Marshaghai police limits of Kendrapara district after the body of a woman was found stuffed in a sack near the village junction here on Wednesday morning. The woman was identified as Mamina Mallick of the village.
Located by a few this morning, the villagers were shocked to find the body from the sack lying near the junction. Suspecting foulplay by her in laws, the villagers barged into the woman's house and beat her father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Her husband, was however, not present in the house neither could he be located in the village.
Later, they informed the police officials who rushed to the spot and recovered the body of Mamina.
"The body has been sent for post mortem. We can only say anything after getting the post mortem report. We have detained Mamina's in-laws while her husband is absconding. Further investigation is on," said a police official.
Later, the angry locals also detained the SDPO and Sadar police station IIC, who had gone to the village, to apprehend the accused.
Meanwhile, two sections of police force have been deployed in the village to avoid any unpleasant situation.
