Woman, two sons meet watery grave in Gajapati

Gajapati: A woman and her two minor sons drowned while taking bath in a pond at Garabandha village under Gosani block in Gajapati district last night.

According to reports, the woman, Banitri Sahukar along with her husband and two sons Suban (12) and Om (10), had gone to a pond nearby their village at around 8 pm.

Banitri's husband was away to attend nature's call, when her sons, who were bathing in the pond cried for help as they began to drown.

Noticing her children in danger, Banitri jumped into the pond in a bid to save them but unfortunately all three of them met watery grave.

On getting information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to Paralakhemundi District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for autopsy.

Meanwhile, an unnatural death case has been registered and police have begun probe.
