Woman stages dharna claiming to be daughter-in-law of Godipada Sarpanch

Nayagarh: A woman claiming to be the daughter-in-law of Godipada Panchayat Sarpanch Sarojini Sahu in Nayagarh district has staged dharna in front of the Sarpanch’s residence.

According to sources, the woman stated she and Aditya, the Panchayat's son, were in love and had tied the nuptial knot three years ago.

When she arrived at the Sarpanch's house on Sunday along with her minor son and Aditya, the Sarpanch's family denied accepting her. She is thus staging dharna in front of the house.

"We were in love and married in court. When we two arrived his parents took him forcibly and left me outside. So I am sitting here demanding my right. He is ready to accept me therefore I will stay in his house," said the woman.

"I don't know anything about the matter; it is a conspiracy against me by the opposition party. If she married my son in court let her show the proof," said Sarpanch Sarojini's husband Antarjyami Sahu.
