man commits suicide
Jharsuguda: In a shocking incident, an woman was brutally stoned to death allegedly by her son and daughter-in-law over a property dispute at Mungapada of Jharsuguda district in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Police have detained the couple and are interrogating them in connection with the incident.
The incident came to fore after the mutilated body of the deceased identified as Usha Rout (50) of Mungapada was recovered from behind a nearby school.
On being informed, a police team with sniffer dog rushed to the spot and started investigation.
"It is being suspected that the incident took place between 1 and 3 AM. The woman was attacked with a stone," informed Kailash Acharya, Jharsuguda SDPO.
"We found blood stains all along the way from her house to the spot where her mutilated body was recovered today. We suspect that the woman was first attacked inside the house and was taken outside where she was crushed with a stone again," SDPO added.
