Woman JE found hanging from ceiling in Ganjam

Berhampur: Body of a woman Junior Engineer (JE) was today found hanging from ceiling of her house in Chikiti block of Ganjam district. The deceased has been identified as Manimala Nanda.

The matter came to light after Debasish Nayak - husband of the deceased reported the matter to police.

Nayak informed the cops that he and his wife had a quarrel earlier in the day after which she locked herself inside a room and hanged herself from the roof.

However, the mysterious circumstances under which Manimala’s body was found- with her feet touching the ground, triggered suspicion of foul play, said reports.

A scientific team and dog squad have rushed to the spot to carry out investigations.

Body of the deceased has been sent for autopsy.
