Woman found hanging in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A married woman working with a private hospital here, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the bedroom of her house in the city late last night.

Family members of the deceased, identified as Swarupa, alleged she was murdered whereas husband of the young woman claimed she had committed suicide.

Sasmita Acharya, sister of deceased, said, “I have seen my brother-in-law torturing and beating her up in front of me. I am sure she was killed.”

On the other hand, husband of the deceased, Pravat Kumar Moharana said, “When I knocked at the main gate, no one responded. Thereafter, with the help of a duplicate key I entered the house and forcibly opened the bedroom window. I found her hanging from the bedroom ceiling fan.”

The Saheed Nagar police reached the spot and sent the dead body for post mortem.
