Woman dies after poisoning 2 sons in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: In a bizarre incident a woman died and her two sons are battling with life after consuming poison in Godisahi of Odagaon,  Nayagarh district. Suspected to be a fallout of family quarrel, the woman made her two sons consume the poison before she consumed it.

While the woman, identified as Banabasi Sahu, died, the two minors are reported to be critical. All the three were admitted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Nayagarh.

Talking to mediapersons, Dr Asish Dikshit of Nayagarh DHH said, "The condition of the children is also critical. The mother died as she consumed a larger quantity of the poison and the elder son is critical as he too had consumed more than the younger one. The younger son is also not out of danger. They are currently under treatment and observation."

The two have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
