Bhubaneswar: The trouble for Talcher MLA Braja Kishore Pradhan is far from over with the woman claiming to be his wife, filing an FIR against the legislator at the SDJM court here today.

The woman alleged that the legislator is refusing to give her social status as wife even after she married him in a temple on April 5, 2015. She also condemned the police for not paying any heed to her grievance.

“I went to him (MLA Braja Pradhan) several times to sort out our issue amicably but in vain. Instead, he tried to beat me up with the help of his supporters. Though I brought the matter to the police, they did not take any action since he is a ruling party MLA. I had no option but to take legal recourse for justice,” said the complainant.

The woman’s lawyer Lalatendu Das said when the woman went to the police station to file a complaint against the MLA, the cops did not register a case as the accused is a sitting MLA of ruling BJD and an influential person. Hence, the complainant has knocked the doors of the court, Das added.
