Balasore: A woman was arrested here on Saturday for allegedly hiring three ‘supari’ killers to murder her husband. The three contract killers have also been arrested.
As per reports, the main accused Basanti of Ganeswarpur village under Sahadevkhunta police limits in the district paid Rs 50,000 to the trio to kill her husband, Madhav Behera.
Basanti orchestrated the murder plan alleging regular torture on her by Madhav. The three hired killers, identified as Akash Das, Banchanidhi Chanda and Bhagirathi Das, then executed the plan on December 17. The trio first made Madhav consume alcohol and then crushed his head with stone, said sources.
“The deceased used to torture his wife mentally and physically in an inebriated condition. Unable to bear the pain, Basanti with the help of her brother-in-law (sister’s husband) hired two other persons for the murder,” said Paresh Rout, IIC, Sahadevkhunta police station.
All the accused will be forwarded to court today, Rout added.
