Rourkela: The Swachh Bharat campaign says your home is not complete without a toilet. But a man has turned his toilet as his home in Rourkela after failing to get assistance from administration for the repairs of his dilapidated house.

According to reports, Chotu Routia has turned a Swachh Bharat toilet as his home after his house at Jalda village was damaged in the month of July.

Unable to get his old house repaired, Routia had no other option. So he shifted to the newly constructed toilet.

Though Routia had made several rounds to the panchayat office, his application for a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) fell on deaf ears.

“I have been visiting panchayat office. But so far have not got any assistance from the officials regarding my application,” said Routia.

Rajkishore Bhanja, a local resident alleged that Routia had been moving from pillar to post for the last three months. But so far due to the callous attitude of panchayat office, he is now forced to stay inside the toilet.
