Bhubaneswar: Putting all speculations over his resignation to rest, leader of opposition (LoP) Narasingha Mishra on Thursday ruled out reports of quitting politics. The seasoned politician, however, made it clear that he will not contest in the 2019 elections.

Mishra, who will be 79 years old by 2019, today said that he will stay in politics till his late breath.

Earlier, rumors about Mishra’s resignation from the post of the leader of opposition were doing rounds following his meeting with AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi, twice in quick succession at New Delhi in October last year.

“I had already made it clear to AICC Vice President that it is not justified to contest polls after 70. But reports in media over my resignation are baseless. I will continue to remain in politics till I am alive,” said Mishra.
