Bhubaneswar: Rising Ranji star Subhranshu Senapati on Sunday said he will be a lot inspired to achieve greater feats in coming season after having won Maruti Estate Saheed Sporting Cricketer of the Year 2016-17.

Speaking exclusively to OTV, Subhranshu said, “I consider myself lucky for having been bestowed with this award. I am sure it will motivate me a lot to outshine my previous records.”

20-year-old  Subhranshu who kicked off his Ranji career last year made quite an impression with one century and four half centuries to his name.

“Last season was a decent one but I want to better this time around maybe with few tons and try to add five to six half centuries which will help me and our team,” he said.

Similarly, Kadambini Mahakud who was the highest run scorer in women’s category last year has been awarded best women cricketer of the year award.

Saheed Sporting Cricketer of the Year award which is celebrating its 25th year of inception is a covetous prize presented by the renowned Saheed Sporting Criket Club to a cricketing sportsperson from the state for his outstanding performance over a period of one year.
