Weightlifter Ghasiram fails dope test by NADA

Bhubaneswar: Odia weightlifter Ghasiram Khara has failed the dope test conducted by the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) a few days after he won three silver medals at the Sub Junior Weightlifting Championship.

The Indian Weightlifting federation has temporarily suspended Khara after his urine tested positive for dope.

“The weightlifter has been asked to undergo blood sample test in seven days, failing which he will be suspended and fined,” informed Odisha Weightlifting Association Secretary Narayan Sahu.

Khara had won three silver medals in 50 kg category at the Sub Junior Weightlifting Championship held at Vishakhapatnam from February 21 to 25.
