Bhubaneswar: With mystery still shrouding the parcel bomb explosion which killed two persons in Bolangir, the special investigation team (SIT) of Crime Branch claimed to have got vital leads in connection with the case on Tuesday.

Senior Crime Branch officials today claimed that the sender of the killer parcel is an Odia.

The development assumes significance for the investigating officers in connection with the parcel bomb case in which two persons including newly-wed Soumya Sekhar and his grandmother were killed on February 23.

Sources said, the sender had visited another courier agency prior to dispatching the parcel from Skyking courier in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The sender was communicating in Odia and Hindi and had dispatched the parcel from Skyking courier after the first courier agency refused to deliver the consignment within a period of 10 days.

A three-member team of the Crime Branch today left for Raipur to conduct further probe in connection with the parcel bomb explosion case.

Earlier, the team had also conducted a detailed inspection of the house of deceased Soumyasekhar Sahu at Bolanathpara and interacted with his family members to collect more information about the incident.

Meanwhile, deceased Soumyasekhar’s wife Reema, the lone survivor in the parcel bomb explosion, is recuperating at SCB Medical College and Hospital.
