In separate letters to the Union Minister and the Chief Minister, Singh Deo stated that such incident has taken place in Odisha for the first time.

"Such an incident has never occurred in the State of Odisha. It has caused terror in the minds of the people of not only Patnagarh but also the entire State of Odisha," he wrote in his letter to Rajnath Singh.

"I seek your intervention to hand over the investigation of this matter to either CBI or NIA," the letter read.

Similarly, the senior saffron party leader also shot a separate letter to CM Naveen Patnaik.

"As the Chief Minister of the State and as you hold the Home portfolio, you have to instill confidence among the people at large and my constituency is demanding that the investigation be handed over either to CBI or NIA so that the culprits who have perpetrated the heinous crime can be brought to book," Singh Deo said in his letter to the CM.

The newly-wed man, Soumyasekhar Sahu and his grandmother Jemamani Sahu were killed while his wife Reema was critically injured in Patnagarh on Friday after a parcel bomb wrapped as a wedding gift exploded.
