Bolangir: A day after a newly-wed groom & his grandmother were killed while the bride was seriously injured in a parcel bomb explosion in Bolangir, police has intensified its probe.

As per preliminary investigations, the parcel was dispatched to the couple as a 'marriage gift' from Raipur of neighboring Chhattisgarh through Skyking courier services.

Senior police officials informed that efforts are on to trace the sender of the parcel which weighed nearly 2.10 kgs.

Two special teams have been formed to carry out further investigation into the incident.

Earlier, two persons including the groom Soumyasekhar of Bholanathpada and his grandmother were killed while his wife was injured after the parcel sent as marriage gift exploded on Friday.

All the three were first rushed to Patnagarh hospital and later shifted to Bolangir hospital where the elderly woman succumbed. Somyasekhar died while being shifted to Burla.

Soumyasekhar's wife is still battling for her life at Burla hospital.
