Cuttack: In what could possibly determine the next course of investigation into the mysterious 'wedding gift blast' case, police on Sunday zeroed-in on the name of the sender.

Sources said the parcel was sent from Raipur by one RK Sharma as revealed by Bolangir police after conducting a preliminary probe into parcel bomb explosion in which two persons---groom Soumyasekhar Sahu and his grandmother Jenamani were killed on February 23.

A team of police officials today interrogated the family members of deceased Soumyasekhar Sahu to ascertain more information about the sender.

Though it is still not clear whether the sender used his real identity or provided a fake name to send the parcel, further investigation in this connection is on.

Earlier, three persons including the newly-wed Soumyasekhar, his grandmother Jenamani and wife Rinarani Sahu were injured while unwrapping the parcel which he had received as marriage gift on February 18.

Both Soumyasekhar and Jenamani died on Friday while Rinarani was admitted to Burla hospital in a critical condition.

Meanwhile, the newly-wed bride Rinarani Sahu was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition on Sunday.

Rinarani has sustained over 36 percent burn injuries and was shifted from Burla after her condition deteriorated late on Saturday night.

"The patient reached at SCB at 4 am in the casualty and after preliminary treatment she has been admitted to plastic surgery department. A team of doctors will be engaged for treatment as she is in a state of shock after the incident," said a senior SCB doctor.
