Wedding gift blast: Crime Branch SIT reaches Patnagarh

Bolangir: A four-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Crime Branch today reached Patnagarh in Bolangir to probe the mysterious parcel bomb explosion in which two persons including newly-wed Soumyasekhar Sahu and his grandmother were killed last month.

The team met the Bolangir SP and the IIC of Patnagarh Police station. The Crime Branch SIT will question several persons including the family members of Soumyasekhar and his wife Reema, who is now undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, sources said.

Yesterday the investigating team had met Reema at the hospital to collect information in connection with the incident.

The Crime Branch will also examine documents and other evidences collected by Bolangir police in connection with the parcel bomb blast case, said Anil Kumar Das, Additional SP of Crime Branch.

It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister had ordered a Crime Branch probe into the wedding gift blast case after Bolangir police failed to get any leads even after one month of the incident.
