Bolangir: The Crime Branch today whisked away yet another person for interrogation in connection with the mysterious Patnagarh wedding gift blast incident that killed two and left one grievously injured.
Baibhasuta Bindhani, a local was taken to the Circuit House in Bolangir where two others – Skyking Courier owner Dilip Das and courier delivery boy Sushant Seth are being grilled by the CB officials since Sunday.
Later in the afternoon, the CB officials also visited the Bhainsa College along with a dog sqad and interrogated the staff.
From there the team visited the ancestral house of former Principal and English lecturer of Bhainsa College Punjilal Meher. Various important documents along with few cracker bombs were seized from the house.
DGP RP Sharma today had revealed that the CB has got vital leads and the case will be cracked very soon.
Punjilal and his associate Umesh Matari had earlier been taken by the CB officials for questioning. He happens to be the colleague of Sanjukta Sahu, the mother of Soumyasekhar Sahu who was killed in the blast. Sajukta on Sunday, informed OTV that ever since her appointment as the new Principal of the college, Meher was not in good terms with her.
On February 23, Soumyasekhar and his grandmother were killed when a wedding gift received through courier exploded at their house in Balangir district. His wife Reema Sahoo was left critically injured in the incident.
Two months hence, the police and Crime Branch have failed to make any breakthrough in the case.
