Patnagarh: The Bolangir police seems to have got  crucial leads in the parcel bomb blast case as two suspected persons of Boudh district have been detained, sources said.

Sources said cops suspect strong connections between the two detainees of Boudh and the mysterious parcel bomb blast case.

Both the suspects are now being interrogated by a team of senior officials.

Police sources said that the injured newly-wed bride Rina Rani Sahu, who is undergoing treatment at the SCB hospital, is a resident of Boudh.

Earlier, two persons including Rina Rani's husband Soumyasekhar and his grandmother had died in an explosion while unwrapping  a parcel the couple had received as marriage gift on February 23.

Bolangir SP K.Siva Subramani stated, "Investigation will be carried out as per the lead. As three teams are working on the case, we hope to solve it soon."

On the other hand, Rabindra Kumar Sahu, father of deceased Soumyasekhar stated neither he nor his family has any connections with Raipur.

"My son was working and staying in Bengaluru, therefore he had no links with anyone from Raipur," Sahu stated.

The cops on Saturday recorded statement of bride Rina Rani, who is undergoing treatment at the SCB hospital in Cuttack, in presence of the Magistrate.

Two teams of police had also visited Raipur and Bengaluru as part of the probe.

Reiterating his demand for a probe into the blast case by a central agency, BJP MP KV Singh Deo said, "Family of the victim and people of Patnagarh want that the investigation should be handed over to either CBI or NIA."
