Weather Forecast: Thunderstorm, lightning alert for 10 districts

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Department has issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for ten districts and advised people to remain alert on Tuesday.

As per the latest forecast, lightning and thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind is likely to occur at Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts till 7.15 pm while people in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Koraput districts have been alerted till 8.15 pm today.

Official sources said strong and gusty winds reaching up to a speed of 50 to 60 kmph will occur at these districts. The Met department has advised people in these areas to stay indoors during these hours.

Earlier, the Met had informed that the intensity of rain will register an increase from April 7 and 8 in Coastal districts and hailstorm accompanied with gusty winds reaching a speed up to 50 to 60 kmph will hit several parts of interior Odisha between April 8 and 11.
