Bhubaneswar: With as many as nine places in the State experiencing temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius in the past 24 hours, the Regional Meteorological department, Bhubaneswar today issued a heat wave warning for several parts of Odisha.

Bolangir recorded a highest temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius today, followed by 42.5 in Titlagarh.

"There will be no change in the weather and heat wave conditions will prevail for the next three to four days," said a senior official of the Meteorological department.

The Indian Meteorological Department had also issued thunderstorm and lightning alert till 8PM today for eight districts including Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Khurda and Angul.
