Bhubaneswar: Get ready to experience marginal drop in temperatures as Nor'wester rains will continue to lash several parts of coastal, northern and southern Odisha.

As per the forecast of Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Department, thunderstorm, accompanied with gusty winds and hail will prevail in several parts of Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul, Nayagarh, Khurda, Ganjam, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts. However, the mercury is expected to rise in such districts and western Odisha after May 22 with possibility of intense heat wave conditions.

It may be noted here, normal life was adversely affected following Nor'wester that lashed Muniguda block in Rayagada district on Thursday.

Over 40 houses in Deokupula and Nuasahi areas have been damaged under the impact of strong and gusty winds. Revenue officials have started an on-spot assessment of the damage caused in the thunderstorm.

Meanwhile, seven places recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius in the state while Jharsuguda sizzled at 41.1 degree Celsius.

The MeT department has said that most parts of the State will experience a partly cloudy sky with rain and thundershower likely to lash some places in the next 24 hours.
