Bhubaneswar: Even as intense heat wave conditions continue to make lives of people across Odisha miserable, the Regional Meteorological Centre issued thunderstorm storm forecast for nearly seven districts on Thursday.

Rain and thunder squall accompanied with hail and gusty winds with a speed reaching 50 to 60 km/hr is likely to occur over one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara districts.

Though the Nor'wester rains is likely to bring down temperature in these districts, the overall temperature across Odisha is likely to remain dry and humid.

Earlier, eight towns in the State recorded temperature over 40 degrees Celsius with Titlagarh sizzling at 42.5 degrees, followed by 42 degrees in Bolangir on Wednesday.

Hirakud and Sonepur recorded a maximum temperature of 41.6 degrees respectively, Sambalpur 41.2, Sundergarh 40, Bhubaneswar 39.5 and Cuttack 37.6 degree Celsius yesterday.
