Bhubaneswar: With mystery still shrouding the wedding gift explosion that killed two people in Bolangir, Odisha DGP RP Sharma on Tuesday asserted that police will crack the case soon.

While talking to reporters on the sidelines of railway safety meeting, Sharma today said that already two special police teams led by Bolangir SP are working on the case.

A team is conducting a detailed investigation in Raipur while several other aspects in connection with the case are also being verified.
Sharma further informed that the statements of the injured bride Rinarani will be recorded soon.

"The injured bride is undergoing treatment and SCB Medical College and Hospital and efforts will be taken to record her statements," said Sharma.

Police sources said already efforts have begun to zero in on the sender of the killer parcel.

Though it has been ascertained that the sender RK Sharma of Raipur had dispatched the parcel, it is being verified whether the sender used his real or fake identity.

It may be recalled that three persons including Soumyasekhar, his grandmother Jenamani and wife Rinarani were severely injured while opening the parcel that was received as a marriage gift on February 23.

Soumyasekhar and Jenamani died while undergoing treatment at Burla hospital the same day while Rinarani, who sustained nearly 36 percent burn injuries in the explosion, was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital on Sunday.

Meanwhile, BJP legislature party leader and Patnagarh MLA KV Singh Deo yesterday requested Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for CBI or NIA probe into wedding gift explosion case.
