Cuttack: Basing on the allegation of acquisition of assets of Tushar Kanta Raj, District Programme Coordinator, WATSAN (Water and Sanitation Mission) disproportionate to his known sources of income, officers of Vigilance Balasore Division today conducted simultaneous raid on the office of the Executive Engineer, RWS&S Division, Balasore, his government quarter at Rajabagicha in Balasore Town, his office chamber, a double storied building at Angargadia, apartment at Radharani Tower in Bhubaneswar, his parental house at Patharapentha and his father-in-laws house at Oupada on the strength of search warrant issued by the court.

During search, the Vigilance officials detected the movable and immovable assets to the tune of Rs 1,01,97,786 in his and his family members.

The movable and immovable assets include a 3-BHK apartment at Radharani Tower in Bhubaneswar, One double storied building at Angargadia in Balasore, a plot in Balasore town, gold ornaments, household articles, household articles, one Hero Honda Unicorn Motorcycle and one Hero Honda Pleasure scooty.

In another case, officials of the Vigilance Sambalpur Division arrested Manas Ranjan Panda, Accountant-cum-in-charge Branch Manager of Sambalpur District Central Cooperative Bank’s Kuchinda Branch while he was  accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from Biswajit Darka, a peon of Paruabhadi LAMPS, and a native of Ramtileimal village under Kuchinda police station limits  in Jharsuguda district, to defreeze his account vide Savings Bank Account which was being operated by him in SDCC Bank, Kuchinda Branch.

The anti-corruption officials seized the bribe money from Panda and arrested him.

The Vigilance officials later raided Panda’s residential house at Kuchinda, Sadheipali and office chamber.  He will be forwarded to the court tomorrow.
