Wanted Maoist Raju surrenders

Malkangiri: Giving a serious blow to the Maoist outfit, wanted rebel Raju alias Baga surrendered before Malkangiri police today.

Raju was involved in many murder and land mine explosion case. Over 11 cases are pending against him in different police stations. He had been working as a member of the area committee for last 13 years. He was carrying Rs 1 lakh cash reward on his head, superintendent of police Mitrabhanu Mohapatra said.

He will be rehabilitated properly as per the rules of surrender and rehabilitation policy for Maoists in Odisha, the SP said. His surrender will weaken the outlawed organisation, he added.
