Puri: The Puri district administration today asked the circle inspector of schools to lodge criminal cases against headmaster of the Basukera Saraswati Sisu Vidya Mandir at Satyabadi and the house owner whose wall collapse adjacent to the school premises led to the death of one girl student and injuries to 24 others.

A meeting under the chairmanship of Puri Collector Arvind Agarwal here decided to ask the circle inspector to file the cases.

The collector also directed the Block Education Officers (BEO) to submit a report in 15 days on how many schools in the district are in precarious condition.

He also asked to the school authorities to take steps so that classes will be resumed which were suspended following the mishap.
