Bhubaneswar: Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Science and Research (VIMSAR) in Sambalpur will be developed as a super specialty hospital, chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi said on Thursday.

According to reports, a decision in this regard was taken at the governing body meeting which was held at the Secretariat today.

Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Padhi said, “A subcommittee has been formed for the betterment of the government-run hospital. It has been asked to submit a report on the betterment of the hospital in October.”

“Besides, we have also decided to increase the number of seats at the medical college. Decision regarding the development of the hostels at the hospital was also taken at the meeting,” Padhi added.

“We will take a final decision as per the recommendation of the subcommittee,” Padhi informed.
