Burla: The Administrative Officer of VIMSAR, Burla moved the Odisha Administrative Officers (OAS) Association of Sambalpur district on Friday alleging that his chamber was 'illegally' and arbitrarily locked by Director of the institute on charges of late arrival.

As per reports, VIMSAR Director Aswini Pujahari had locked the chamber of Administrative Officer Gopal Swami Naidu after finding him arriving late to office regularly.

Terming it as an 'insult', Naidu said the Director could have taken action against him if found negligent in discharging his duties.

"VIMSAR Director arrived at my chamber and instructed my peon to lock it. If I have neglected my duty, there are some legal provisions to handle such issues. I have apprised the OAS association about the issue which is an insult as my self-respect has been hurt," said Naidu.

On the other hand, Pujahari alleged Naidu usually neglects his duties by coming late at regular intervals. He also takes leave without prior information.

The Director further alleged Naidu even misbehaved with him after being reprimanded of his acts. He even produced recordings of telephonic conversation between them as proof.

"I had informed him that I am taking the keys of his chamber and he must meet me after reaching office. I am his superior officer and the language he used with me is not acceptable. He was present in office for 15 days and again took leave without any approvals. It was only five days back that he had joined his duty. I would have been happy if he had completed the work which was assigned to him," said Pujahari.
