Joda: Two youths were tied to an electric pole by villagers in Hundula under Joda police limits of Keonjhar district alleging them to be involved in a robbery bid from a house in the village. Later police reached the spot and took the duo into its custody.

The two youths have been identified as Irfan Khan of Joda and Biswajit Giri of Champua Phagu.

As per reports, four youths including Irfan and Biswajit knocked at the door of a villager late last night. When a woman member of the family opened the door, the four youths asked for drinking water.

As soon as the woman went inside to fetch water, the four youths entered the house and allegedly tried to steal from the house.

The family screamed for help which was when neighbours came to the rescue. The villagers overpowered two of the four robbers and tied them to a pole. However, two other accomplices managed to flee.

Sources said several cases have been pending against Irfan, one of the two detained youths, at the Joda police station.
