Villagers protest unscheduled power cuts in Balasore

Balasore:  Protesting unscheduled power cuts, locals along with some traders staged a demonstration in front of NESCO office at Gopalpur under Bahanaga block in Balasore district today.

Nearly a hundred activists gheraoed the office and later sat on a dharna demanding a solution to the issue at the earliest. It is alleged that locals have been a facing a tough time due to frequent and undeclared power cuts in the block.

However, no staff of the NESCO office was present and the office was locked from outside. "We closed our shops and joined the protest in the morning. But the staff have locked the office from outside and left," said an activist.
