Cuttack: Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday unearthed assets worth Rs 3.58 crore belonging to a doctor couple of the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre here during a raid.

The raids were conducted at six places, including the house of Dr Surendra Senapati, former head of the Radiology department of the hospital, and his wife Deepti Samanta at CDA area here, on the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets.

The raids were conducted following an allegation of irregularities in medicine procurement at the hospital.

The movable and immovable assets identified during the raids included 12 plots in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Pune in the name of both, 1250 grams gold and diamond jewellery, Rs 14.42 lakh cash, deposits of Rs 34.51 lakh, Rs 23,59,000 share bonds and Rs 9,80000 fixed deposits in various bank accounts, Vigilance sources said.
