Keonjhar: Bargarh Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Solaram Marandi was detained by Vigilance officials today, while he was travelling in a bus near Judia Ghati in Keonjhar district with Rs 1.0075 lakh in his possession. The money has been seized.
Marandi was travelling from Keonjhar to Bhagbandh village under Tiring police station in Mayurbhanj district when he was stopped by the vigilance sleuths. Later, raids were conducted on his office and residences at Bargarh, Bhagbandh village, Rairangpur and Bhubaneswar.

Talking to mediapersons, Vigilance SP Harekrushna Majhi said, "We found Rs 1.0075 lakh from his possession but he was not able to answer us about the source of the money. We have detained him and investigation is on. Search operations are being conducted at his official residence in Bargarh and office and at an apartment on Vivekananda Marg in Bhubaneswar."
