Bhubaneswar: The vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted simultaneous raids on the houses and office of Paikamal tehsildar Janakinath Mishra in disproportionate assets (DA) case.

Official sources said, the raids were conducted on the office and rented house at Paikamal, government quarter at unit-II, Bhubaneswar, and paternal house at Barchana in Jajpur district.

During the raid, the sleuths have traced assets including movable and immovable properties worth Rs 1.41 crore belonging to Mishra.

While bank deposits to the tune of Rs 86 lakh was found, Rs 2.5 lakh cash was seized from his government quarter, the officials stated.

Sources added, Mishra owns an apartment in Khandagiri area and its current market price is estimated to be around Rs 35 lakh.

The vigilance sleuths have also seized 110 grams of gold ornaments and 220 grams of silver.
