Cuttack: The Special Vigilance Court here put off its hearing on the petition moved by the Vigilance to take arrested senior IPS officer Joydeep Nayak on a four-day remand till tomorrow.

The court took the decision as the investigating agency failed to submit the case diary today.

Notably, Nayak was taken to the hospital on the premises of the Choudwar Circle Jail yesterday after being produced in the residential court of the Special Vigilance Judge at CDA in Cuttack.

Nayak has been brought here on a transit remand after being produced in the Ghaziabad chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court.

Notably, Vigilance sleuths arrested the Tripura-cadre Odia IPS officer from Ghaziabad in connection with siphoning off Rs 88 lakh meant for computer education of SC/ST students and self help groups (SHGs) in Odisha while he was on deputation in the Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) of Odisha police.
