Bhubaneswar: VHP leader Pravin Togadia who is on a 3-day visit to Odisha offered to work with the State government in providing free healthcare services to the poor in the State.

“Private doctors should serve the poor free of cost and I am ready to initiate programmes on providing free healthcare facilities to economically challenged communities just the way our organisation is offering in other states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh,” Togadia said.

“If the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would like to cooperate with us on this humanitarian work then not only people in Odisha, we are also ready to ensure that Odias staying out of the state also get benefits of these facilities,” he added.

Speaking on controversies that keep on arising now and then against Puri Shankaracharya, the VHP leader said, “Shankaracharya is the supreme religious leader of the Hindus so the government as well as the society should respect him.”
