Bhubaneswar: Verification of the nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha seat will be done today and May 18 is the last date of withdrawal of the papers. BJD's Pratap Keshari Deb is set to get a seat in the upper house in view of the strength of the party.

Former Minister and BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb submitted three sets of nomination papers, along with his proposers and supporters, to the Secretary of the State Assembly yesterday.

In the first set of the nomination paper, Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik including nine legislators served as proposers for Deb. Similarly, Minister Dama Rout including nine legislators in the second set and Debasis Samantray including nine legislators in the third set served as proposers for Deb.

Talking to OTV Deb said, “I personally will focus on farmers’ issue, Central-State revenue sharing and Mahanadi water issue.”
