Bhubaneswar: The official website of Utkal University has been hacked for the second time in the last few days forcing the varsity authorities to close the site as the e-admission process is currently in progress. However, it is still unknown whether any important data have been hacked.

The hacker has mentioned the hacking on social networking site Facebook. Besides 'Mallik' written in English, there was something written in Urdu language on the home page of the FB account, which is in the name of a Dubai based man-Ahmad Chanda.

This is the second time that the website of the State's premier educational institution has been hacked. Even as the State Crime Branch is probing the first incident, the fresh hacking has put the students in trouble.

On the other hand, university authorities have lodged no written complaint yet. "The cyber cell of the State Crime Branch is well prepared to investigate into the matter after receiving complaint," Crime Branch special DG BK Sharma said.

Meanwhile, the University PG council will meet today to discuss the alternative today, Vice- Chancellor Ashok Das said.
