Bhubaneswar: Suman Saurav Mohanty of Odisha has secured 9th rank in the 2016 civil services examinations, the results of which were declared by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) here on Wednesday. Nandini KR of Karanataka has topped the exam.
Suman had earlier secured 413 rank in the 2015 civil services examination. In his reaction, Suman Saurav Mohanty thanked Lord Jagannath for the success.

Official sources said, as many as 1,099 candidates have been recommended for various government services and 220 other candidates are in the waiting list.
The written part of Civil Services Examination, 2016 were conducted by the Union Public Service Commission in December, 2016 and the interviews held in March-May, 2017.
Other Odias who have qualified in the exam include Avishyant Panda in rank 91, Subhankar Mohapatra rank 255 and Suchismita Kanungo in 261 rank.
In an exclusive interview to OTV, Avishyant said, "Working for poor would be his top priority and would be happy if given a chance to serve in Odisha."
