New Delhi: "There is no end to dreams. Aspirations of human beings keep increasing with each passing day. After getting a number of successes in my career, now I am dreaming to bag a medal in the Rio Olympics for my state and country," said a confident Dutee Chand after returning from Kazakhstan today.

Talking to OTV in New Delhi, the Odia girl, who qualified for the Olympics in the 100-meter dash and the 4X400 relay with a stellar performance in Almaty, Kazakhstan,, performance said, “I had a dream to qualify for the Olympics since I landed on the tracks. I had to work really hard to get the Olympics ticket I had to work very hard. I used to practice from 6 am to 9 am, 11 am to 12 noon and again from 4 pm to 6 pm every day.”

“I will thank everyone for the success. I got the ticket to Olympics due to the support and love from everyone. This success is an outcome of 14-year of hardship and toil,” Dutee added.

When asked about what assurance she got from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dutee said, “I could not meet Narendra Modi as I was busy with my competitions which were going on in Kazakhstan. I will meet him soon. But I have met Union Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan and sought his support for the Olympics.”

Notably on June 25, Dutee qualified for Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from Aug 5 to August 21 after covering 100 metres in 11.30 seconds in a race held at Kazakhstan.

Besides, she will also represent Indian 4x100m women’s relay team at the Olympics with Srabani Nanda.
