UP man arrested from Puri for online fraud

Puri: The Bhopal police on Tuesday arrested an online fraudster from Puri for duping people after promising them attractive returns on their investments.

The accused, identified as Manoj Banjara hailing from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, was nabbed from the Kakatpur area in Puri.

As per reports, Manoj lured people with different fraudulent schemes and convinced them to deposit money into his bank accounts promising huge returns.

The police sprung into action after receiving complaints from different individuals at the Bhopal Cyber Crime police station in 2017.

Acting on a tip-off, a three-member team of Bhopal police raided Manoj's house and arrested him last night.

He had inconspicuously escaped to Kakatpur and was already running a full time business in Puri, informed police.

“Our team traced him following technical inputs from the cyber cell. He used to lure people with attractive schemes and make them deposit money in his bank accounts. He will be interrogated for further leads,” informed SS Solanki, officer in-charge, Cyber Crime police station, Bhopal.
